2008
Being a rare second generation born and raised resident, Miami, FL will always be home. I formed a strong love for Miami Hurricanes football and got my first taste of what impact nonprofits can create.
2012
Attending Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL got me out my shell, helping me grow confidence for leadership development. I sang in the choir, was a campus tour guide, and president of the college's Hillel chapter. Getting a BA in Human Development taught me valuable skills about how to work on a team and understand different perspectives. Interning with the the Office of Community Engagement at Miami-Dade County Public Schools and Florida Holocaust Museum pulled back the curtain on what it really takes to not only make a change in the community, but also keep operations going in the future.
2015
Becoming a Dawg at the University of Georgia gave me the hard skills for nonprofit and public management though a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree. Taking courses on grant writing, nonprofit finance, volunteer management, and nonprofit fundraising helped me learn the specialized skill set all nonprofit professionals use. Internships at Books for Keeps and Extra Special People provided real world applications for what I was learning in the classroom.
NOW
After receiving my MPA, I came to Best Buddies International as a grant writer.  After implementing a new organization grant writing process, I was promoted to deputy director and now lead a team of grant writers, working towards exceeding foundation revenue goals and helping create a more inclusive world for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
